Glenn Miller – undoubtedly the most famous bandleader of the swing era, whose mysterious death on December 15, 1944 transformed him into a myth once and for all. In the three short years of its existence, the Glenn Miller Orchestra advanced to be the most popular band in America. Although Miller – which is known only to a few – really only composed “Moonlight Serenade“ himself, the songs played by his orchestra like “In The Mood“, “Chattanooga Choo Choo“ or “Jukebox Saturday Night“ became veritable evergreens. Along with these hits, Andrej Hermlin and his musicians also play lesser known titles of the Miller band, which are just as successful in their originality. Just for this concert program of the SWING DANCE ORCHESTRA, copies were made of the Glenn Miller Band’s legendary music stands with their streamlined design. This is really an authentic Glenn Miller Show!
